GURUGRAM: Police have nabbed a history-sheeter who not only trailed property dealer Vijay Batra alias Tantrik for a month but also led the shooters to the spot where he was killed. He was produced in a city court and sent to five days of police remand.

Sujit alias Bullet (22), a native of Darbhanga in Bihar and currently living in Devi Lal colony, passed matriculation and worked as a bhelpuri seller before joining the crime world. Police said that he was associated with the Kaushal gang. Inspector Naveen Kumar, the head of crime unit, Sector 31, allegedly got a tip-off about Bullet on Thursday night and arrested him at the underpass near the Khandsa vegetable market.

“It’s too early to reveal anything but this man called the shooters to Sohna Road to eliminate the property dealer. He said that he was himself equipped to kill Vijay Batra in case the shooters had somehow failed. He is also a history-sheeter and involved in several cases of brawl and murder attempt. He came out from jail only seven months ago,” said Shamsher Singh Dahiya, ACP (crime). Vijay Batra alias Tantrik was gunned down by unidentified assailants on the Sohna Road last Friday night. The shooters allegedly came in an I20 car and shot him near Parsvnath Society.
